We decided it was time to shake things up a bit! Whilst we’re known for providing awesome car rentals in New Zealand, we thought it was time to try something new. Our GO Glamper is a super nifty Camper Trailer that you can lock and leave …wherever you like – from the top of the North Island to the deep, deep South and everywhere in between. Super flexible, super easy to tow and above all, super cool.
If you love the outdoors but you’re looking for something a bit more comfortable than a tent, then the GO Glamper ticks all your boxes. It’s kind of a cross between a caravan and a campervan which may sound a bit weird but it totally works. We took all the best bits about a caravan and all the best bits about a campervan and combined them to create the GO Glamper.
Sounds good. Tell me more.

Go Glamper vs Campervan – which should I choose?
We know there are heaps of people that come to New Zealand looking for that rugged campervan experience. Driving around in your accommodation for a few weeks sounds pretty cool and it’s definitely a great way to see New Zealand. We just think that the GO Glamper does it better.
For starters, our GO Glampers are brand new. So you already know you are getting something that is not going to have done thousands of kilometres on the road already.
Then there’s the flexibility. Did we mention that already?! Imagine rocking up to some stunning town and thinking, “Yeah, we like it here. Let’s stay a few days”. Well, if you’re in a campervan, you’re stuck driving around in your mobile home for the next few days. With the GO Glamper, you simply find a camping or caravan site, park up the GO Glamper and away you go. Free to explore to your heart’s content in our awesome Toyota Hilux. And your GO Glamper will be safe and secure back at the campsite thanks to the excellent security features.
Comparing the GO Glamper vs Campervans vs Caravans
So, you’re heading to New Zealand and you want to take your accommodation with you. You’ve looked up the cost of campervans and you’re not convinced. Maybe a caravan is an option?? Those things can be pretty heavy and people who tow caravans are always getting a bad rap on the roads. That’s why we decided to introduce the GO Glamper. More stylish than a caravan and more flexible than a campervan, it ticks a lot of boxes.

As you can see, the GO Glamper is definitely up there as a great option if you’re thinking of renting a ‘mobile home’ for your trip around New Zealand. Whilst they may be a little tricky to park in towns and cities, it gets a lot easier once you unhook it and you’re simply out exploring in your Hilux. The only thing it’s missing it a shower but thankfully New Zealand has some awesome public showering facilities, especially if you’re at the beach.
These sound awesome, where can I rent one?
Renting a GO Glamper
Our fantastic new GO Glampers are available for rental now and will be popular throughout the summer months. They are available for rental from our Auckland Airport and Christchurch branches currently and this gives you plenty of scope for exploring both the North and the South Islands. We have some very cool all-inclusive packages available which include our sports utility Toyota Hilux 4×4 and we think you will find our prices super-competitive, especially if you’re comparing them to two-berth campervan and caravan rental.
Where to stay?
With no accommodation to find, the big question is where you are going to park up your GO Glamper. Well, the good news is that there are heaps of cool places to park up. New Zealanders love camping, caravanning and getting outdoors. Whether you choose to park up in one of the hundreds of DOC (Department of Conservation) campsites or you hunt down one of the many freedom camping sites – we have some simply stunning places to bed down for the night. You won’t find many hotels on the shores of Lake Hayes or Lake Pukaki. There aren’t many B&Bs at the Cathedral Cove Recreational Reserve and you won’t find a motel at the Crown Range Summit. These are all really cool places where you can camp in your GO Glamper thanks to it being certified self-contained – pretty awesome.
