My favourite thing about New Zealand so far has just been travelling and meeting like-minded people, and Queenstown has been a beautiful place surrounded by mountains, snow and winter activities that I absolutely love!
One of my favourite NZ experiences is enjoying a refreshing beverage at the Onsen Hot pools in Winter, overlooking the spectacular view of Shotover River Canyon in Queenstown.

We like to start our adventure by taking the Skyline Gondola to the top of Bob’s Peak. Once there, you can take in panoramic views of Queenstown, Lake Wakatipu, and the mountains. For a super fun experience, hop on the luge and GO race down the scenic tracks. It’s a great way to kick off your day with excitement and breathtaking views.
For thrill-seekers, the Shotover Jet offers a heart-pounding experience on the Shotover River. Speed through narrow canyons up to 90 km/h while performing exhilarating 360-degree spins. It’s one of Queenstown’s most iconic adventures and a must-try for those looking for an adrenaline rush.

Kingston is home to the historic Kingston Flyer, a vintage steam train that once travelled between Kingston and Gore. While the train no longer operates daily, it’s worth stopping by the station to admire this iconic piece of New Zealand history. The beautifully restored carriages and locomotives provide a nostalgic glimpse into the past.
Stroll along Lake Wakatipu's shoes for stunning views of the surrounding mountains and crystal-clear waters. Even if you don’t venture far, the drive offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
If you're looking for a bite, the Garston Stables Café is a cosy spot offering fresh coffee, homemade baked goods, and hearty meals. Housed in an old converted stable, the café provides a welcoming atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing stop before you continue your road trip.
