Do I need a credit card to book with GO Rentals? You don’t need a credit card to book a hire car with GO Rentals, you can use a Visa or Mastercard debit card.You do need a credit card if you opt for our GO basic or Assured insurance options with a required bond deposit. This is due to the security bond required upon pick up.You can upgrade to our GO Peace of Mind insurance option if you would like to pay with a debit card. Both options cost per day but do not have an upfront security bond.Just a heads up that if you pay for your hire online, your debit card will be subject to a non-refundable payment processing fee. Your credit or debit card must have the cardholder's name embossed on the front for verification and the cardholder must be the main hirer.
Can I add another driver to my booking over the phone? All drivers need to show their physical driver's licence in the branch to be added to a booking. You can call and add a driver to your booking for an additional driver charge and you will simply need to drop into any GO Rentals branch before they can get behind the wheel.
Are there any toll roads on the North Island? New Zealand has a total of 3 toll roads which are situated on the North Island. Auckland - The Auckland Northern Gateway Toll Road is a part of State Highway 1, between the areas of Silverdale and Johnstone Hills. Tauranga - The Tauranga Eastern Link Toll Road is part of State Highway 2 which starts near the Domain Road interchange, near Pāpāmoa and finishes near the Paengaroa roundabout. Tauranga - The Tauranga Takitimu Drive Toll Road is part of State Highway 29. It bypasses the Tauranga city centre and takes traffic towards Port of Tauranga and Mt Maunganui. In the unfortunate event of an accident, the branch you collected the vehicle from would be the first point of contact after an accident. Please contact us at your earliest convenience so our team can advise you of the process and we can organise to send you the appropriate claims forms by email.If involved in an accident, you must also:Notify the NZ Police and obtain a police report where practicableNot make any admission of liabilityWhere possible, take some photos of the accident site and the damaged vehicles and provide these to GO Rentals; andComplete the forms provided to record the full details of all parties including witnesses and the vehicles involved in the accident along with the Hirer’s or Authorised Driver’s written statement and diagram of the accident circumstances.
